While I was away in Cyprus, I had this pretty cool dream one night.
I fell asleep listening to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wImwvtyNm0c I highly recommend listening to it while looking at this!
So I had this dream about these giant blue cyclops birds. I don't remember the story behind it, but I remember loads of details about them.
There were 5 of them in total, all were disheveled looking and hung their wings down from their bodies, which made their primary feathers drag on the floor and they had obviously been dragged for years because the feathers were blackened and ragged.
They had black stick legs that made a "tak tak" sound when they walked. They stood high above me in this blue tiled room. they spoke to eachother in extinct languages. but each language was different, they didnt speak the same one to eachother , but rather replied in their own one. I couldn't understand them unless they directed their speech at me.
They had encyclopedic knowledge of one subject each, and had the runes/letters of their own dead language carved into their legs.
The heads were fingers, with mouths. So the fingernail made a really strange beak, only housing teeth that were longest at the front.
They never blink.
I remember seeing the blue flame in one of their eyes, but i cant remember why. It jumped at me, with the eye engulfed in the flame, and i cowered on the floor. But the bird extinguished the flame and stood up tall again, they were easily 10 feet tall. If not taller.
I think I know why each one of them had the "evil eye charm" for their eye.
My mum bought me a bracelet that day with the evil eye charm on it, along with earrings. they say the eye charm wards off evil spirits , to keep you safe. For those of you who have never seen an evil eye charm http://www.travel-images.com/pht/turkey354.jpg
We know "the evil eye" as a look that you direct to someone in envy or dislike. So people would hang these charms on their doors. or on anything they felt they needed protection.
I did this little piece to get back into drawing on my tablet (since i havnt done for a week and a half and im completely out of practice) thats why it looks lazy and weird in places.
They are only different in their feathered crests on their heads and some different patterned feathers, where the feathers are darker on one, they may be lighter on another one.
I really love these guys, so you may see more of them! This is the first time I've coloured one anyway, I am researching dead languages and the evil eye and such for these guys
Please dont steal them, :<
