Just ran across this again, I forgot I had it on my DeviantArt and just wanted to upload it here because I suddenly got the urge. I know it isn't a furry, but lol. Soup.
Did it in 11th grade for an art project. All in colored pencils, glancing at Leonardo's Mona Lisa as I drew it. We were supposed to choose an artist to imitate while adding the Andy Warhol 'pop art' theme into the picture. I ended up doing the Mona Lisa because my teacher didn't think I could do it. When I said I thought I'd like to emulate Leonardo da Vinci he said 'Do you even know who that is?'
Which.. really was an insult on my intelligence. He thought that I couldn't draw in a realistic style as he had done. It only made me want to show him up. XD I guess I should thank him for making me work really well out of spite. Casually handed it to him and said 'Is this good enough?' His face was priceless. PRICELESS.
Haha. Winnar!

My black colored pencil hated me after this.

That is an interesting story I draw to be better then some people who cant take criticism cuse they think their work is god. But anyway that is really really good^^all with colored pencil >.< I can barely color at all over 90 drawins in two weeks and Poor attempts at coloring still nothing....not even good at shading
Wow....your linework has always been amazing, but this is beyond that, and 11th grade? Damn! The linework and everything about this picture it wonderful, and really captures Da Vinci's work as well as having fun with what Andy Warhol did. It's both intelligent and fun!
By the way, good for you, too in regards to showing up your art teacher. I don't think teacher's realize how important they are and how much sway they have over a student's mind and moral.
I hope this doesn't sound e-tarded or anything, but I'm proud of you. In a much harsher fashion my art teacher of 4 years took me outside my senior year and torn me apart and reduced me to sobbing tears.
In college I had a teacher who graded me down because I wouldn't mix my paints enough or draw abstract like her.
I had a teacher who would skip over me when critiquing everyone's work in figure drawing class because I would draw the model as an anthro.
Even waaaaaaaaaaaay back in preschool my teacher chewed out my grandma (because you really can't be chewed out at that age) because I wouldn't color with crayon...I would color with pencil.
I don't know why I'm rambling, and I don't mean to take away from your work, it's just that for years I've let myself be haunted by the close-minded, un-supportive and demoralizing actions from my teachers. Seeing this and what you did made me smile in many ways, and I hope that you never let him drag you down.
You are goddamn talented and I'm in awe of how raw it is. I'm going to stop myself before I gush too much. *bows*

hmm... that is nice. my school doesn't have music or the arts. that is the one suckish thing about going to a tech school. I could have gone into IT or Graphics, but instead I became a welder. I just wish I could draw like that, or even better, make a metal sculpture like that, it would be BOSS! who knows, I've got 2 more years of hell ahead of me, maybe I will switch into an art or design based shop. or not
