Rodent always has a way of instigating Tannis into doing stupid things, but getting the coyote to make fun of a living jet was near the top of the list. Finding himself in the sudden need to make a quick escape from the jet as it closed in fast, Tannis made that fateful, desperate decision. Grabbing Rodent, he tossed the rat at the jet in the hope of slowing it down, uncaring that the roaring flames within that living engine would incinerate the rat. Of course, such a small obstruction wouldn't really slow the jet down at all. :)
This picture came out fantastic. I really love everything about it. From the expressions on Tannis, Rodent and even the plane, to the colors, textures and details, everything just works so beautifully.
I love the way Rodent looks as he's about to enter that flaming, toothy engine, and Tannis' desperation is simply perfect. I also love the entire look and design to the plane, with such touches as the eyes on the canopy and the talons on the wheels, being wonderful.
My thanks to Amethyst for taking this commission and doing such an amazing job with it.

Lies. Rodent would never purposefully trick Tannis into angering a living plane, and then run in front of him at just the right speed as to make himself a likely object to be picked up and thrown into the flaming maw of the plane. Next you'll be telling me that he yelled for Tannis to save himself by sacrificing the rat.
Oh, wow! This is a new way for Rodent to be eaten! Poor fella! Being tossed into the mouth of an angry airplane! LOLOL!
I love how Tannis suddenly picked up Rodent and tossed him into the airplane's mouth in the hopes of slowing down that angry machine! Squawk!
Heheh. The plane reminds me of this movie trailer here:

I still want to eat you, Rodent. *nomnoms your head, leaving it all slobbery and dripping with eagle saliva* One day, I shall BBQ my favorite rat!

*giggles* Well, if you weren't so busy getting blown up, and too lazy to chase after Rodent yourself, maybe you'd actually have a shot at catching the rat.
Hehe. But yeah, I do love the way this came out. Amethyst just did an all-around awesome job with the characters, postures and expressions. :D
