Thor and the Norse Gods. Are historical & public domain material to be used by anyone. Whoever created Thor for Marvel, had to make him very unique to hold the Visual Arts Copyrights for the company. That is why he looks the way he does.

The did at one time wrote a story where the red hair Thor did make an appearance. You should give it a look up.

I was surprised to learn Thor was a redhead. Growing up with the Marvel interpretation kinda "colors" things.
