I did this to promote a fundraiser for MF in 2012. I wanted to use a lion, and I think I was going to paint it, but then I ended up copying the image and tracing over it with black lines to get the features. Rather than fill all the colours in myself, I reduced the colour set of the image and did some median cuts to separate things out. I think I was getting ready to paint when I realized that image worked perfectly with the traced lines, and so I just used that.

I did some stretching and skewing of the text to add some 3D, and of course the rest was just hour after hour of fiddling.
