So, i couldnt sleep and i really felt like drawing. More importantly, i wanted to test the effects of my old mars markers on my new bristol board. The markers are like some water color markers with a brush like tip. The cool thing is that i can control the darkness of the ink by restroking the same areas. With much better effects than my prisma color markers. The bad thing is they ae a lot more gritty in the way they color. And my scanner has the ability to highlight this fact. So, in person the picture looks a lot better than it does scanned.
Originaly, i just wanted to test my markers on this paper. But i was getting tired of repeatedly drawing myself over and over again. So, i just wanted to do a bunch of random sketches of random dragons. I stated with the brown one one the left, and about half way through i decided to draw old incarnations of myself rather than random dragons. ^^ So basicaly this is a rememberence picture of the continued effort of finding myself. So to speak.
Anyways, the first one is the blue one with the black stripes and yellow belly. He was the first char i had but i didnt draw him to much. And i quickly gave him up when i felt he was to generic and didnt represent me correctly.
The next one i tried was the grey one in the bottom corner. I had a thing for fur at the time, and i felt it was more original. I drew him for a while and made many animations with him, but eventually, the fur started getting on my nerves and i realized fur wasnt for me.
The next char i went for was the black one with the grey stripes. At the time i had really fallen in love with black, and i had had a few dreams about black dragons. So i felt that this would be the best char for me. However, i quickly got fed up with it as this char continued to be hard to color for me at the time, and i was getting sick of black.
After that i figured my main problem with myself was the color. So i took a picture and repeatedly recolored it with different colors. After getting a bunch of variants i finaly just sat there and though it over. Even had an online poll in a yahoo group. I eventually settled witht eh brown dragons because frankly... i just think it looks good. I did animations with him, experimented a lot with him with markings and drew him a lot. But i eventually gave him up as well. Upon finding myself a look alike for someone elses char, i started trying to experiment with him to try and make him more my own. Mostly by messing with the wings and markings. And i eventually got fed up with all the alterations i made and how annoying it made him to draw. So i went on to try and make a more original version of myself.
One of my main problems with char choice is that i really really suck at picking colors. No one color really speaks to me, and i usually just use colors that look good to me at the time. But i didnt want to be like a chameleon who changes color cuz i thought that was to stupid. So instead i decided to have a green dragon, since green is my favorite color. And i decided to give myself color changing markings. I thought that would keep my since of variaty happy. And safe to say it did. ^^ The only problem was that i made the markings kinda weird and complicated. And i eventually found that they really didnt speak to me, and it got to the point where i was really rethinking them. Eventually, the moment where i decided to give them up was the same moment that i decided to see what feathers would look like on me. Just for fun. But now i really love those wings, and i think they will stick to me. ^^ Ive decided that the wings will be a purple color. Sadly i didnt have the right color maker, so they appear more blue here. But not wanting to give up the color changing aspect, i decided to keep my eye and ear fin the same color changing pigment. ^^ So i still change color a tiny bit. ^^
Anyways, i guess thats the history of my char thus far. Generally i really like drawing my own char because im still never very satisfied with it. Im always trying to look for just the right char that i always enjoy drawing and thinking of myself as. ^^

Lol yah i know what you mean. All my old chars are still very annoying to me... cept the brown one. I still have an affinity for him. But i like my green version much better. Expecialy with the wingies. ^^
Eventually ill feel satisfied that i have a representation of myself... but till then its still fun to draw. ^^

Heehee, I probably read it right after you posted it. :P
And whatever the version you have, there are still parts which are funny to draw. ;P
Personally, I loved much of them. The neon green one was nice, especially in the Flamedramon armor. XD But I like your last one too. ^'==='^

Hehe so basicaly get rid of the wings and add the markings back? Or maybe i should try keeping the markings and the wings. Either way, you wouldnt beleive how annoying those markings are to draw. They make my char annoyingly complicated. But the wings add a nice originality to me, without the annoyance. Hehe but i did like those markings. So ill probly find a middle ground.
