I. Have had this piece sitting on my computer for AGES.
Waiting to be finished.
And so I did.
I actually started this back during my little humanized character phase, and I had this big image pictured in my head of all 3 of them humanized, hanging out, and it was way cool when I thought of it. Still is, to me. But the initial spark of the idea was greater.
BUT YEAH, here they are..! Throwin' 'em back like a bunch of dudes... then they're gonna go do other manly things.. like... eating ham.. on the bone.... idfk
Good night.

Oooo, the bar scene. I don't believe you ever drew this environment before have you? It looks very authentic from the dim lights to the glossy shine of the synthetic rubber booths. The wood finishing lining the walls looks awfully detailed. Did you paint them yourself or use textures? Because this artist paying attention to that much detail has much more time than he lets on (high-low pitch to the on... XP)
This time around, however, the line art surrounding your characters doesn't look as itchy- more "Peanuts" or "Ed, Edd, and Eddy"-esque. Ya know, those wavy lines that keep vibrating around the characters. What do you think? Is your inner Snoopy being channeled here? XP

Ahh no, this is the first time Ive done something like this. Funny thing, I've never actually been to a bar. All of my bar knowledge is from stuff I've seen on TV, which probably isn't the MOST reliable source... :x
And yes, the wood textures are both layered on there. I'm actually most content with how the wood on the wall came out. It looks so real, methinks :)
And yes, this time I tried to keep the sketchy lines a little more "tame", I guess hahah. Snoopy is probably trying to tell me something... :O

Well, I think the lighting makes up for any discrepancies. The shading is perfect, but maybe lower the brightness a bit and we have the dim lighting of the bar scene (this advice also based on TV show portrayal of the bar scene. ^^;)
The textures are very nice in this one and it doesn't detract or draw attention away from the center. I think adaptations like that generally have a stark difference with the style of the artist, but it meshes well here. Snoopy would be proud (and I do believe he drinks... if he is in one of his personas).

Hmmm yeah the lighting could be a little dimmer, that would bring out the "true" bar scene feel. I'll test it out, eventually :)
This is actually a new texture I found, and the colors were dark on the bottom and very light on top. Which could be part of the reason it's so bright up top :O Ah-HAH! So that's it, then. I'll see if I can't tweak these settings a little bit..
