First off i wanted to state that I did not draw this, it was a commission from a great artist known as
uni. Any credit for the work should go to her, also the reference for the pose came from a piece of work from
Kishari
Huh i really wanted to put up a backstory with this one or something of the sort but, drawing a blank right now. Just a bit more action rather then just looking pretty. Uni really did a great job with the fire i think (if you havn't noticed i'm a big fan of fire) and the glow in the eyes couldn't have turned out better.

When stellar objets (stars) near the end of their lives, they start burning heavier and heavier elements in their fusion reactors, creating carbon, calcium and so on. But once a certain element starts forming in a star, it absorbs more energy than the fusion reactor can get out of burning more of it to make any more energy. What is it? Uranium? Plutonium? Gold? Platimum? Lawrencium? Lead?
No - it's IRON. The same stuff that makes our blood red, makes the steel in our cars, makes the metal stuff all around us, makes the earth's magnetic core so polarized, gives birds and many other creatures their sense of navigation - all was forged in the heart of a star in its death rattle. The moment iron was being made, it was dying.
Which leads me back to you. If a star dies, its heat dies with it. It's very, VERY cold in space. So the ultimate expression of death, of cold, of the grave and the end of life - would be raw, black iron. Ironically, it's also in the heat of the red blood most of us share and pump through our veins. So you have an "irony" in you are a dragon of a definite wrought-iron hide in color, but with the forge-fire hot flame interior, fighting against that metal skin which can drink up that energy and contain it. It survived the heat of a star. It will survive you. The question will be - what will you two do together that outshines what a star didn't accomplish during its millennia?

Hmmm very observant of you, although my scales are the color of iron they actually are composed of many other elements. Although iron can conduct heat very well it has a low melting point, which if they got hot enough my scales would become squishy. But i do admire the comparison to a star.
My blood is composed of a lot of iron where as the scales of my hide are almost an exoskeleton. Comprised of many of the components of my bones, and also used for keeping everything contained, the high heat conductivity in the small composition of my scales, helps to circulate the heat into my body. Which yes my skeleton and scales would outlast my lifespan by a bit, but that's not to worry i will do enough damage with them before my time would be over. Although if i do die, the process that keeps the scales cool enough to absorb the heat, also keep my scales intact, therefore I would explode on death, much like a star I suppose.
As for what i hope to accomplish more then the stars... not sure, although i could easily cause much chaos and destruction, a life of peace doesn't sound all that bad. guess I would be conflicted so for now I hunt, for fun, food, heat, and for a meaning to all of it. As for now i do think i have accomplished one thing over the stars....
*puts on a top hat*
Oh yeah... lets see a star do that
And damn epic question by the way

*flexes muscles* In a manner of speaking, most of us are star-stuff doing things that the stars themselves couldn't do during their main sequence. We may not be as brilliant or hot, but perhaps witty, stunning, amusing, and charming - if for only a mere femtosecond in comparison to their long lives.
I'm now wondering if I should call a contact I have with an automobile wrecking yard and feed you discarded vehicles, if only to add nourishment to your growing frame?
