This is my first ever photo manipulation. Just getting some practice in. I also heavily painted over a lot of it.
Forest base was a composite of about 4 photos from my personal collection. Octopus from here: http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs28/f/2.....hies_Stock.jpg

Ooooh, cool! I've got some stuff like this from the Olympics and there's also a little spot that looks like a candidate for some of this shot up at Flaming Geyser State Park. Though you'd have to do some macro photography with the stream to get it similar. I've got myself a Discovery Pass just so I can get up to the good places!
heh, the Flaming Geyser is worthless, bring a lighter. Its just a natural gas seep that occurred after a mining accident many many many years ago. The surrounding scenery though is quite pretty. The trail past the guyser has this little stream that runs through it and the trail is relatively short, but pretty! Here's a little creature I captured (on another account of mine) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2777244/ and a shot taken on the stream up at Flaming Gyuser State Park. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1144954/ I knew the name rang a bell! (I is formerly Carraig of Conifur Northwest!!!) Oh and I do believe it takes a Discovery Pass to get in these days, its 30 bucks a year for all the state parks in WA, or ten bucks a day per park (i've got the pass as I'm constantly in a state park somewhere!) Oh, yes, and over on the Green River Community College Campus, there's a hiking trail that offers some great views of both the river, and that of Mt. Rainier too (on a good clear day that is)
I just got back from Wenatchee National Forest with a bunch of new stock photos from that area. We went hiking up on a logging road south of Cle Elum and I found a nice stream. I'll have to check out these places you suggested. Thanks. x3 Sucks about the state park fee thing, my buddy has only the NW Forest Pass that we share. I'll probably buy a state forest pass and share it with him. I've been wanting to visit Tiger Mountain summit since I'm so close, but yeah... $10 to park is BS.
That bug icon on your other account, what is that? We found one up in the forest and I photo'd it to ID later.

Next time you renew your forest pass, (its yearly) get the Discover pass, it replaces the NW forest pass and is good for sooo much more than just the state forests. Ya can actually pick it up at the Wal-mart, or maybe even Bear-Arms has it, If I remember correctly you're in that vicinity. Ooh, Tiger Mountain summit is pretty cool, esp if ya have a mountain bike, its got some great trails up in that territory. There's also a bit of mining that was done up in that area, nearby Cougar Mountain (closer to Issaquah) even has an old Missile Silo atop it! http://www.issaquahpress.com/2010/0.....ar-connection/ for more info on that one. As for the bug, I saw that over at Green River Community College's nature trails, you can find its description and type over here: http://share3.esd105.wednet.edu/rsa.....ts/beetles.htm its toward the very end of the page.
