Well, he doesn't use the metal mercury itself. It takes metal's like iron to from a specialized crystal organelle. This arrow like metal point on the outside of the cell can spin, allowing quick movement and help hold form. It also used this as a "drill" to obtain new metals as well.. hard to explain currently, ill be posting a report soon!
