i couldn't have said it better myself, even if i was one for "explaining how i feel"

LOL before this happened I was sitting in the pews thinking "What on earth have I gotten myself into?" I broke into a cold sweat when I realized how obviously un-Catholic I appeared!! LOL

So, I only really had a few minutes to contemplate what to say if I was approached... I that the Preist was going to come over and knock me over the head with his staff!!! (Think of Rafiki, from the Lion King, lmto!)

I'm only joking of course. He did nothing but smile at me kindly.

WOW! i wouldn't have been able to explain my beliefs in such a way! LOL

It was kind of blurted out, lol. I went to the Furneral with my boss, who is Roman Catholic. I was terrified to upset him. [EEEK PLEASE DONT FIRE ME!!! lol] Thankfully he is very accepting! :) But it was the truth, and it stuck in my brain like peanut butter to the roof of a puppy's mouth. :D

Bravo! As the man might have said "you are not far from the kingdom of heaven." People know what is right and wrong, people have everything they need to know about spirituality factory installed. If you want to know about God, ask him, not men. You do not have far to go. He is within you. But if I may give my best friend a plug, He is the light to that path. I speak from experience. (sermon over... sorry. no disrespect meant, I just had to comment because it makes me happy when people see what you see.)

As I said, who am I to say what Religion is to anyone but myself?

I found many things the Priest said at that funeral very uplifting, and I'm glad that the family has such a positive Religious system to lean on. They most certainly need it.

When my father died it was on his words that I leaned on during the loss of him... It may sound that I have deified my father... but what child would not deify a loving parent at the loss of them? And I had idolized him long before his death, anyway. My beliefs are based on his loving teachings, and what could be a better or more solid cornerstone for belief?

I have simply learned a way to express my beliefs in words... and as soon as those words exited my lips they would not leave my mind.

At any rate, I'm glad to hear your comments, especially if you were inspired enough to share them!

Religious debates I tend to stay out of. That and politics. You just can't win at either most times.
