Got a new work/toy truck! She's a 1999 1/2 F-350 4X2 with the 7.3l PowerStroke with just shy of 200,000 miles! Little surface rust here and there and the usual frame rust trucks up here get. But, for the most part very clean.
The only problems are a leaky turbo return line gasket, little oil around the rear diff gasket, wind shield wiper park sensor needs to be replaced, the gear select indicator on the dash was about 4mm off to the right and there is a large dent on the passenger side of the truck. (cosmetics are the least of my concerns)The dealer agreed to fix all of these for $200. Except the dent. Now we get to the price of this truck, brace your self, $4,695 including the repairs and the $100 fee for the paperwork! And for the people who are wondering; the oil pan is solid and rust free! There is no audible tick from the turbo. (checked with a stethoscope) And the cold engine fired up with no complaining! Puff of white smoke then clear all the way!
To top it off the dealer warrantied the drive train for 7 days. So, I'm going to pull a 12,000lb+ horse trailer 150 miles both ways through hilly norther NH for a stress test. :)
Anyway, I'm going to pick the truck up Tuesday or Wednesday and up load a better photo and a better picture!
By the way this photo pulled of dealer website. Cellphones don't put the day in the corner anymore.
