The Dump.
In the outskirts of the underground industrial city of Dante lies the Dump.
In it all the industrial waste, the items that are too broken to worth repairing, and even general household waste goes.

In its bottom is a river of lava... a river that slowly consumes all that is fed into the dump. Some of those items might still work and even try to move up.
But since they are not allowed to leave -- gun turrets on the top of the dump monitors escape attempts -- as soon as they cannot continue climbing their fate is set.
The river is very patient.

After three attempts, the Mireille project still failed to impress its potential buyers. So, it was canned, and the prototype of the third and last version was deactivated, boxed up, and thrown into the Dump.
The prototype should reach the lava in a year or so; its sarcophagus can only be open from inside or using special keys.
But, something happened. Seven months after it was dumped, the Mireille Mk3 prototype activated itself. Maybe it was due to all the tumbling; we might never know.

It is awake.
Out of her sarcophagus.
Completely clueless of where she is.
She cannot help but wonder what did she do to be dumped in there.
