Finished picture for the MMC convention conbook. The con theme was "Lost worlds". This picture was the centerfold and was commissioned by Kayjay. I really really had a lot of fun working on this even though it was the most exhausting picture I've ever made. X3
I loved working on the different stone parts and I was so happy I managed to insert _all_ characters. X3
So this young skunk woman soon will learn that it's not a good idea to run around in ruins with statues which look suspiciously like your fellow adventurers. X3
Background was completely painted with gouache, character and statues are done with colored pencils. :3

Nelena....as much as I love this piece, lots of nice details!....
Why am I expecting "whack-a-mole"s to pop up from behind everything?
I'm looking at it thinking...Whack-a-Mole DELUXE! Whack'em if you can!
Keep watching the all the openings and statues and bushes for something to pop-out that I can beat down for the points!

Oh wow. I've had the distinct pleasure of visiting the place some of this is sourced from - Ta Prohm temple, Cambodia - and it really is astonishing how the jungle just reclaims it all. Slow power in those roots and an astonishing feeling of overgrowth when civilisation turns its back :/
There's a stegosaurus caught in stone there too. Probably just the joke of a restorer though :D
