Someone who...draws comics for a living? Is this a trick question?
Haha, you're totally qualified. As somebody who's given panels in the past, I know that "I AM A TOTAL SHAM" feeling, but you're both a comic creator and a thoughtful dude who is process-conscious. You've tapped into a nice pool of influences that includes an awareness of other contemporary creators and a deep grounding in traditional art history. You have opinions about things.
And the great thing about panels is they last like an hour and a half, tops. Assuming you don't steamroll Cube and Phylum, that's a half hour of you talking. And even that isn't happening in a vacuum -- you'll be playing off each other and the audience and I assume you'll bring some samples of your work and other visual aids. Honestly, you'll probably be rushing like crazy by the end to say everything you want.
I think worrying too much about the Objective Correctness of what you're saying (which isn't a thing in art anyway), or even its practical use to the audience is kind of a pitfall. Talk about the things you've enjoyed the most, the things you've struggled with, and the things you've learned, and your audience will love it. That's basically what we'd be talking about over beers if you were out here, anyway <3
