One of my absolute favourites as well, because it always reminds me about my beloved best friend and myself, kinda XD
Only one thing is rather sad, they made a animated series after the movie... and they turned Mei into a girl >w< simply horrible.
Not because I have anything against girls, but it shows again that some simply couldn't stand the very idea that two guys could share this kind of feeling ....well, or maybe because they tried to make a little more money with that series and were aiming for a different target audience, either way it's unsightly since it looks totally crappy <_<

I think they were maybe more than just the best friends and at the end of the movie they didn´t need to be secret friends furthermore but might have also became something else than just friends yet they kept that situation as the next secret bond between them, even secret to each other as they didn´t dare to say it as it is but they rightfully understand the connection between each other withouth having to say something else!!
