Here's something you didn't know about me, I collect dead stuff. I do dabble in taxidermy.
I have a few skulls, bones, and skeletons around.
This is Matilda, she's a field mouse that was killed by a mouse trap in our feed shed. I persevered a month ago and and she still looks great.
On the subject of dead things, I recently gotten possession of a full grown female raccoon I'm currently de-fleshing, I may articulate the skeleton.
As far as I know, taxidermy is allowed here on FA.
If this needs to be marked as mature please tell me

She is a beauty.
I want to see the raccoon when you have it finished and all. That would be really interesting.
I have a partial set of bones, that I have had to years, and have no clue anymore if they were a skunk or raccoon or what anymore. I really need to piece what I have together and see what they were. But, sadly, since I let nature do the fleshing...I am missing parts.
I also have a baby squirrel preserved, much as your mouse there -in isopropyl solution-, a few years ago. And a beautiful black widow, that I did recently -in ethanol, to try to keep the colour a bit longer and to be more technical and professional about it.
I never understood why people find taxidermy and preservation so odd or "creepy". I've always somewhat enjoyed it.
