When I logged onto my pc this morning I wasn't expecting to see such a devastating news article which was directed to me by my sister, I have to say I honestly have never felt so sickened by my own race.
They are offering 6,000 hunters and trappers a chance at taking 400 wolves when Minnesota holds it's first regulated wolf hunting and trapping season this fall.

I painted this in the hope that those of you that view it can see the pain and upset I felt this morning and let you all see the horrific nature that hunting these beautiful creatures actually is.
Living in the UK I know we have no wolves here due to them being seen as a 'pest', so they were hunted to extinction. We should not let that happen anywhere else.

I get it. But it won't change a thing. Most people will be fine with it and the rest won't do a thing. Ever since society was built we destroyed the world, we put bastards in charge and gave them the power to play God with us all. And unluckily the animals are the ones paying for our mistakes more than anyone else.
yea I know but all that I hope is that it will become a realization for a few people, even if they consider the pain of this then that is a success. Education does wonders for the heart and mind and people just need to open up to learning the truth, I know a lot of people personally who would rather blind themselves because they cannot cope with the reality of things. It's unfortunate :/
And there was another article before that, that stated that they are doing this because deer hunters kept spotting wolves in the areas they were hunting in and they didn't feel safe hunting in those areas with wolves around. What do they expect? Wolves need to eat and survive ofcourse they are going to be where ever there prey is.
i know in some areas where I live, the wolve population is getting a bit too large for the territory-- so of course the hunting ensues, but to hunt for the thrill is terrible, I could see it may be more fair if you were trying to defend yourself, but these hunters are intentionally going after these wolves for sport
It is mainly for sport and their excuse is always, if we don't decrease their numbers they will eventually kill all the dear and either starve themselves to death or start killing people/livestock/pets/ect. Which they already do with livestock and pets sometimes since PEOPLE are taking over their territory and their food is moving to different places so they kill what is close by. It isn't their fault...

It is sad that this how many humans are, we take prey that we don't need and call it ours. We kill the animals that we see as evil for needing the prey we don't need. Wolves are only the start of it many other animals get killed for no reason. People seem to think that predators like wolves and coyotes breed like dogs. The thing is unlike dogs most predators only go into heat once a year. They only have two to ten pups a littler and most of that littler wont live long enough to breed again. *Hugs back* Yeah this is only what the goverment kills. Makes me pissed off when I hear people saying predator population is going up. How can it when they are kill that many? Also they kill them in a way that gives them no chance, how can a animal have a chance against a human shooting at them in a helicopter? I would gladly harm all those hunters. The wolves did nothing, and I am a wolf lover plus also have spiritual attachment to wolves being native american blood wise.
I would have been happy to throw all the hunters into the wild without a weapon and see how my race fricking thinks of that. And if I see government to come kill them, they would have to run me over before even getting a single wolf in my area.

Im sure if you looked hard enough there would be petitions to sign and whatnot, of course the only reason these people gave the hunters the okay is because they are becoming slightly overpopulated and of course, since we never notice that nature has a way of taking care of this stuff via disease or whatever, they choose to do it themselves and go ahead and hunt the wolves back into a normal population size. Its disgusting and rather horrid I agree but when humans have fucked up the natural balance as much as we did there isnt much people think will do to help keep things that way. Again, of course, Im sure you can find a petition somewhere that you can sign to try and stop it *nods*
yea, there's probably is one but not being in the US I would have a clue where to look. I mean it's just so frustrating that they are picking off a newly recovered species because they aren't in the government's interests basically. It's quite horrid to have that kind of control to be able do decide a species fate
