heres a preview WIP of a Red Heeler, ( Australian Cattle Dog) fursuit head. ( this suit is based off the reference art of this caracter, so its less spotty than many Red Heelers)
There are hair tufts, LED whiskers, and more detailing to be done still.
The suit owner wish to remain secret for now

its based off his reference picture of a red heeler, which has much the pattern and spots as seen on this head to reflect hsi design. ( somewhat of a less-spotty version of these: http://stlseniordogproject.typepad......2bb0970c-800wi
The markings are good as they are necessarily simplified but the shape itself is very long and lean and the ears are skinny for a heeler. But if the customer's happy then it's all good :3 I assume the face dotting is their character's thing as it's a bit odd if not, though cute :)
Very true most red heelers and blue heelers have speckles, but not all have it showing, not in high amount anyway eg - http://blog.barkforpeace.com/wp-con.....ingersnap1.jpg

Those dogs are both speckled? One is just taken under high contrast. Anyways, I don't want to spam this page, speckling fur is not really very doable in a costume and I was just curious on that point but, IRL if a heeler has no speckles of white then it's not a heeler. It's a random bred dog.
I have never seen a fur that has the speckled pattern as you described, ( as Beetle said its very difficult to create the pattern on fur thart is usualy mono-tone or tri-tone even. Though the CR Crafts Nutmeg fur seems to come the closest to the "random" patterns and colors seen on some Heelers, but as in 90 % of fursuti building cases its impossible to find furs that are "exactly" like a particular animals, its part of the compromise that both the builder and commissioner has to accept. I could do a simmilar speckled pattern on thit heads' cream colored muzzle with fur fiber implantation techniques, ( the same method i used to do the brown spots on his sides) but would take forever and be alot of work for the many tiny fiber bunches to implant.
Either way this guy is based off his reference art, and his art do not have the speckles or patchy patterns that many Heelers have.

OMG AWESOME!! XD
Truthfully I really want a suit made from you guys, and I'd happily pay extra for the speckles/ flecks on mine, but I need to save up first and I'll wait til your open, cause I know your booked out at the moment. ;3 But yeah my ref only shows my semi larger white and light brown spots/ speckles, but I actually have more light/ tiny speckles everywhere else as well. < If that makes since at all. XD

It's funny how I know who this was the moment I saw him. XD
Though two things look a little off, the other ear should have a bit of brown as well and well I'm pretty sure his meant to have a creamy colour mouth and chest, not white. Feel free to ignore me, just what I've remembered seeing on his ref sheet. So he could have changed that if all I know. XD
He looks awesome no maker what, cause man you nailed this spot on. Loving it. ^_^

UH SO WHEN ARE YOU OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS AGAIN
This is pretty phenomenal. I thought 'that looks like a herding dog' as soon as I looked at it.
I love the corners of the mouth and the slope of the forhead, angle of the ears- yeah just about everything. It reminds me a lot of skribblefox's early works(I hope you don't mind the comparison, I prefered his early works a great deal, so seeing your style like this really makes me excited)

Darn, you are soooo good! Your skills were emphasized by the IRL wolf photo right next to this in my submissions inbox: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8039488/
Wow. This is such an amazing, beautifully sculpted head! :0 I don't know how I had never seen your work before, but I am so glad to be finding it now! :> I am an aspiring fursuit maker working on my first suit ever. And your style is the closest I have found yet to the type of semi-toony look I'm going for in my own endeavors, particularly in the eyes. I have not been able to find one other fursuit maker that gives their toony eyes the kind of liveliness, depth, believability and expressiveness that yours do. And that is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish with my own suits. But I haven't been able to find any tutorials or fursuit makers that are able and willing to explain how to get this type of look.
Do you, by any chance, have any tutorials out there that explain the process you use to make your eyes? And if not, would you be willing to maybe answer some questions I have about your process for making and installing eyes, i.e., What materials do you use? Do you use plastic or foamies for the sclera or something else all together? Buckram, mesh or something else for the iris and pupils? How do you manage to shape the eyes to fit so perfectly into the sockets without compromising the visibility or the expression you're going for? How and with what material do you make the eyelids, ducts and lining of the eye? And how are you able to make an eyelid look so believable with the eyes sunken into the head? Do you install the eyes before or after furring?
Gosh, I'm sorry for being such a pest with all of these stupid questions, but after months of meticulous research and experimentation, I am just against a wall. D: However, if you can't or don't want to answer them, I completely understand. I know it must be overwhelming to be bombarded with so many, and I don't expect you to be able to answer every single one of them, as busy as you must be. But, literally, any advice at all that you could give me, no matter how small, would be an immense help to me. Thank you so much for your time! :3
