So for a while I've been trying to push the sculpties in SL to their limit. I've learned a lot of tricks, and finally I think I've found the best ways to utilize them.
So here I've put them to use in the design of this lemur. Or, lemur/cat really, since it's got a pretty cattish look to its face. Its face is primarily made of sculpties, though with the usual fluff on the cheeks being tori still, and the skull being made up of basic prims.
I've given prim-based eyes a try too, as you can likely tell. They look around, which is a lot of fun, and certainly makes it more interesting to look at, as anything dynamic is to being static. I think it was really necessary in this case too, because, when the eyes were locked in place.. it didn't really look too ALIVE. But now, as it is, I'm really happy with how it's turned out..
The eyelids are also made out of sculpties and are animated to blink, it looks pretty neat.
