Meme over at my RP group to genderbend our characters. I decided to do Bixatas first. He came out looking like your typical bitchy RPG character as a chick.
His real name is Tabias, his female name would be Tabitha. +X and anagram, turned it into Bixathat. (wanted to keep the Bix)

The actual shading on her is done by your average pen/brush tool (depending on what program you use). Everything is on a separate layer (skin/black clothing/hair/white clothing/fur). All I did was preserve transparency (opacity in SAI), and hit each one with its own shading. As for where shadows go...that's all practice and 'whatever looks good.'
As for the drop shadow, I flattened the image (all except the BG), duplicated the image layer, and locked the opacity on the bottom image layer. Then I filled in the bottom image with the shadow's color (dunno why I picked red really), and moved that image slightly to the right to make it look like a shadow. I then turned down the opacity of the layer to make it more transparent.
That clear enough to understand?
