Fourth of the five bugs I made for Art-O-Con, who will now be joining me at Anime North this weekend- tomorrow, actually! Ahhhhh so much to do! To be honest, I do not actually know what these little guys are actually called, but I can remember catching them in fields and things as a kid, and they looked pretty much like this, with the extremely blunt head and the little wedge shaped body.
If you are interested in purchasing Hopper or any of my work, please feel free to note me.
EDIT: A kind DeviantArt user has informed me that this is a leafhopper, and was nice enough to share a gallery of some of their absolutely stunning tropical varieties, so this guy might get a repaint.

Maybe a type I've never seen before, but beyond being built to leap, it bears no resemblance. They looked more like this guy here

Not quite the same, but closer in shape. Blunt, wedged shaped and ill-defined head, much smaller than the average grasshopper and the legs are not as apparent.
Thanks for guessing though.
