Jeih sat quietly, his eyes fixed on his hand, and did not seem to notice as Yahndrall sat silently down beside him.

“He showed me how to wake him.” Jeih said abruptly. Yahn looked over, and understanding flickered in the depths of his amber stare. ”I was there.” Jeih’s voice softened. ”I saw the link, followed its brilliance to its anchor, and… there he was. Sleeping.” A small laugh escaped him.

“I thought I knew, Yahn.” Yahndrall inclined his head, waited patiently for Jeih to finish. ”I did not realize…” Jeih fell silent for a moment and closed his palm. ”I was so small.” Yahndrall left him to his thoughts a moment more, and then spoke.

“Jeih.” Jeih looked up. ”What did you see in the light?”
