Ladies and Gentlemen, please take your hats/caps/berets of to the amazing
charha . She is, with a great displacement, the very best talent in digital coloring. I do not have any clue how she makes it, but she creates one masterpiece after another...and now, my humble self was honored with THIS! There is no comparable art in my gallery, so this will be my featured submission, although I did not colored it...
The lineart can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/787515/
Nothing more is to say than: All hail the amazing Charha!

perhaps this is why Pirates were so feared they could do rather amazing things in cheap leather shoes in the rain on oaken beams covered in brine on a twisting turning ship, and during a swordfight.
Alternately it might just be the brine and the cheap leather were made for each other in that through wear and tear and bad cleaning techniques as well as encrustation of salt crystals made the footing far less treacherous?!

Two guys having a sword fight on the Bowsprit of a ship in the middle of a raging sea. Completely ludicrous! Who cares! I'm going to sit back and enjoy the scene! Reminds me of many of the Pulp pirate covers from the 40's and 50's. Love the rain-slick overcoat on the villian with the hook hand.... He is the villian right?
Yeah Smudge and I have helped compile several issues of "Pirate Tales" for Black Swan Publishing, and last year one issue dealt with collecting old Pirate novels so there were lots of examples of covers to look at. In fact we just got our copies of the Black Beard graphic novel from the client last week.
Rising the flag on the masthead
The sails and the ropes' holding tight
The gunners are eager to fire
Well prepared for the fight
Fight, flee or surrender
Defeat you can't deny
Better give up in the first place
Or drown in the blink of an eye
Gold, jewels and diamonds
The price we'll have to claim
Noble rogues are standing
We'll never quit in the game
We gonna ride the sea, we pray to the wind and the glory
That's why we are raging wild and free
Come sing along in the pirate song
Hail to the wind, hooray to the glory
We're gonna fight 'til the battle's won
On the raging sea
No way to move your deadlocked
Nailed down by feu-eclair
Lead is carrying fire
Victory's noble and fair
The sails and the ropes' holding tight
