ok, since no one seems to notice my journals
i lose interest in this site more and more sadly...partially because no one notices me, but thats my fault mostly.
I broke my arm last friday...makes typing kind of hard but i am slowly recovering. anyone notice me still?
I was curious, anyone seen some decent mechanical tails? i'm kinda interested in making my own...
also, if you have any sketch designs that you'd love to see drawn up in all their glory on autoCAD let me know. I'm always looking for 2d designs to mock up.

Damn, that really sucks. How'd you end up breaking your arm and how long before they say it should be healed?
As for mechanical tails, I've seen a really silly one made of of K'nex that a guy at the local meets here has. Though it was interesting, aesthetically is had some work to be done still. I've seen other mechanical ones online somewhat randomly, but they're all rather complex. Most of the ones I've seen are servo based and therefore need control circuitry and a battery pack. That being said, they sure do look cool. I also saw another one somewhere that was hydraulic and used the pressure built from you moving to swing the tail appropriately. I'll see if I have any of the sites saved from when I saw them and send them your way if I do.
What kind of things for autocad? I actually might have something you could mock up if you want. I've been working on this led display system and would need a kind of enclosure for the arrays and drivers. I was just going to model it in sketchup at some point, but if you're looking for things to do I could send measurements your way.

2 dimensional, i'm an autoCAD draftsman by trade so i'm just looking for stuff to be able to toss into a portfolio for what my abilities are drafting wise :D
I'd love to see some of the servo based ones, and heck the hydraulic one sounds insanely cool!
I misjudged a corner on my motorcycle at about 45mph. Knew i was gonna crash regardless of what i did so pulled up straight and aimed for the dirt. My left hand gopt pinned under the clutch and my arm broke when i went over the handle bars. luckily i managed to slow the bike down to about 20mph before i hit dirt >.<
