Count me as a Robotech fan too. I just recently was delighted to find the whole Macross saga on DVD. Loved it, though I couldn't get into the Robotech Masters saga as much for some reason.

That's not your fault; the Robotech Masters/Southern Cross Saga was kinda crap. The robots were dumb and the story was a bad soap opera. The Invid Invasion, though... that is badass!

Yeah. I liked it for a while, but then my interest waned as it felt like the story was going off on a tangent. I liked their decision to continue the story from Ms. Sterling's perspective, but it just wasn't as epic a tale as Macross felt.

And they're still doing stuff with it. I haven't seen any of the series after Robotech Masters, much less the newer stuff they've put out, but perhaps I should go back and find the rest of them?

I would strongly, strongly suggest watching nothing after Invid. It seems like things should only get better once they can really follow their own story and animate it as they like, instead of hammering existing photage into the plot, but no... it's really awful.

Aye. Can't say I'm really surprised with a series that's lasted as long as Robotech.

As impressive a job as they did rewriting the existing series, they don't seem to be able to tell a story on their own.
