Poetry's always kinda slippery that way. I'm not sure I fully understand it, but to me it is as if the narrator was trapped in a dream that seemed pleasant at the time, but once awoken, didn't wish to return to.
Of course I'm not a great one for analyzing poetry, so who knows? ^^"
