So tonight I said, "I want to try something new. I've always wanted to start using Adobe Photoshop 7! Oh, I know! I'll try a fun speed paint on real fur!"
So, I found some fruit bat references and this fur tutorial on DA, and started cracking on it:

Six hours and some technical difficulties later, so much for a speedpaint. It was a lot of fun though, and it's pretty! ...Not bad for my first try at realistic shading in a LONG time. I avoided shading like this for a couple of years because the digital programs and tools I had made it really frustrating to get all the fur lines to go where I wanted them. Photoshop and a tablet are amazing! =D
Look, I'm posting this thing at 4 in the morning!
Also, <3 <3 <3 long eyelashes.
