This piece cannot hold a candle to what I can do now on the piano alone. Unlike most of my music, this one has evolved after 20 years and still holds a major front in what I can do today.

this is the original, meaning it is rough, uncut, and vastly unrefined. This piece actually has a lot of emotion behind it, as well as a lot of story. Imagine yourself finally having lost everything, but in doing so you have freed yourself from a curse that has stayed with you for a life time. In this case, the character in question had also lost a sense of purpose and was left without knowing what the future holds.
