In the 80's, that getup was actually very hetero... Which I find funny, actual pictures of me from the 80's look like something I'd wear to a rave today to pick up dudes, if I were into that sort of thing (not that there's anything wrong with those who are!). Belly shirts, mesh clothing, tight jeans, pastel colors... Lotta bright pink... Little white convertibles.

And my dads 1986 fleetwood brougham that was so long it couldn't make right turns on a narrow street at more than 20 mph(without blowing the back passenger tire, which he did a LOT in Manhattan)

Keeping in mind my Mother bought that clothing for me, including a leather jacket with a LOT of superfluous metal bits which was my female cousins' first, it looked like something a Nazi tank mechanic would wear!

Hehe, yeah, my parents were raised in the eighties and it was torture to let my mom do my hair when I was a child. Finally I said "enough is enough, Mom. You're choking me with all that hairspray."
