remember I always say... never stop editing? I finished this last night at midnight... of course, over coffee this morning, I went over it again (already posted though) and changed the very last line just a bit.

Did you know there's a book called "They came and ate us?" by Robert Rankin?

No way... really? I do remember an old Sci-Fi movie where the aliens came down and took all these people away, and they gave the humans a book in their language... the final punch line was delivered to the main character as he is about to get on the spacecraft... 'don't go... we finally translated the text (The title of the bok was 'How To Serve Man') it's a cook book!'

I always loved that movie.

Vegtables are so very good for you... and though I would never totally give up my meat, it always amazes me that in a world where we can grow so much we still have to kill other animals to eat. Centuries of habit will never be turned quickly I suppose.

I never heard a beesh that knew of it, but 4th of october is world animal day. From that day on and for at least a month I go without meats as a tribute to animals of sorts. Wanna join me sis?

This story provided a laugh after a day in which I badly needed one. You have such an ear for dialog, you should really be writing screenplays or something like that.

The only crit I have is that the title gives away the twist - maybe drop out the reference to fast food?

Well done. :) I was laughing for quite a while afterwards. It was particularly interesting for me how the little things Sparky said at the beginning of the story were sort of premonitions for the way it ended (with the spacecraft "Happy Meal 13"). XD

One thing that caught my eye on the second read-through was the stench he ascribes to the rocket propulsion of the spacecraft ("boiling oil"), which makes me wonder if it runs on peanut oil. XD Yay fast food rocket!

Overall, a fun story. :)

*smiles... and that's what the Prompt is all about. It really frees up the brain. I still do the free flow promps but now I am also tied into a world that came about because of it - and that would be Scanectity Skunk's world.

I just got my inbox under 100 submissions today.

*laughs.... I get mine down to just under 50 and then over night it's back up again - all very frustrating, especially when I have to begin being selective and blowing past some stuff (never yours mind you)

Very interesting. Hilarious. It made me smile, it made me snort. And rather unusual approach to the theme. Nice little story, I have to say, I enjoyed reading this. The human creature came back to eat the farm animals. Good work.
