Hey there! I'm the guy designing and coding Weasyl's new front end. Rest assured that I'm putting full emphasis on optimizing the site for small-screen devices; I'll be accounting for resolutions ranging from 320px (the status-quo portrait smartphone width) to around 1600 or so. I'll also be doing my best to cut download times for smaller devices.
For Blackberry, my plan was to test on it down to OS 5.0. However, I'm not exactly on the pulse of RIM's goings-on—If you have any insight as to what most BB users are running, or even things that most annoy you about other sites when navigating on your Blackberry, I'd be happy to hear it! More perspectives means a better final build.

                    Thanks for replying :D
I'm not exactly very technical minded but I can indeed give you a list of problems I have with art sites on my blackberry bold (a friend of mine has a blackberry curve and another has another different backberry model and the three of us encounter these problems)
With furaffinity-
-i cannot view thumbnails since it was changed to this new style, rendering the home page completely useless.
-since the thumbnail change I cannot search for art, the only way I can actually see anything is if I click on it, which is a pain. (All I see is "image not available")
- this new ridiculous drop down menu for everything is stopping me from writing journals, access my shout management, submission management etc, and cannot update or change my profile or avatar as the menu just doesn't work with my phone.
- deviantart and sofurry are too large and don't fully load, not to mention using a hell of a lot of my usage (where as fa actually doesn't use a lot at all even though its the full site)
If your art site does indeed have mobile versions maybe keeping those simple will be best :/

Very helpful! Those problems mostly sound like a lack of extensive browser testing, which I'm making a point to not be a problem here. And we're hoping people won't be shy about reporting issues when the re-coded front end is ready for public consumption.
On the Blackberry side, what about the FA dropdowns prevents you from using them? Is it an issue with their implementation (for example, can you get dropdowns to work on other sites?) or is it a general Blackberry interface thing?

Well on blackberry when I hover my mouse over the "my fa" drop menu it does open, as soon as I start to slowly scroll down it closes, iv tried many actions including actual clicking on "my fa" but it does nothing, to be fair its most drop downs on any site that does this which is annoying but not an fa only problem.
As for the reporting part I have tried reporting my problem with fa but all I got in reply was "well iv never seen that on a mobile device" so I don't see the point on trying now.

Interesting; I'll have to make that a point to look at if we decide to stick with dropdowns in the main nav. What version of Blackberry OS are you running*, if I might ask? I want to be aware of quirks like this because sometimes the emulators don't catch them all (differing input methods, etc.).
But if all else fails and it turns out that it's an unsolvable Blackberry problem, we will surely have more than one path to take to get to a given page. And when Weasyl comes to be open to the public, please don't hesitate to report bugs. We'll do our best to give each one its due consideration.
