Cave Story is an utterly amazing game! After getting Cave Story+ on Steam over Christmas, I was inspired to make a mimiga char of my own. Finally, that urge has materialized into this gal!

Years before the game takes place, there was a terrible war, humans invading the island with powerful combat robots. Many mimiga were killed and captured, before the secret power of the red flowers was used to drive the humans off. Nekku was just a kid when she was captured. They only had adult-sized manacles handy, but they locked her up anyway, likely for exporting as a lab subject or zoo fodder. She managed to escape, stealing a Fireball from a human soldier and shooting her way out.

Years after the war, Nekku's taken to exploring the wilds of the island, looking for lost tech and supplies to help the mimiga survive and thrive again, and she always keeps her trusty Fireball with her for self-defense. She was never able to get the manacle removed, but she's grown into it now, and it serves as a reminder of why she searches the wilderness.
