I mentioned how elaborate most of the Toshogu was when I posted my picture of the resting place of Tokugawa, but at the time I didn't post anything showing it.

This is a detail from the roof of one of the buildings at the shrine. I don't recall which building it was, exactly -- but it's one of the outlying ones, not even a main building of the shrine. And it's still ornamented this lavishly. It's good to be the shogun, I guess.

The elephants caught my eye.
