So yah, as the subject implies, ive given up WoW. I honestly cant play it anymore. But ill do the rant after i explain the picture to you guys.
Alright, overall im very happy with the picture. Now, in my original idea, i was to be sitting on the wing of my Nemesis/Warhawk, and looking back with a semi said face to a pile of my old WoW armor. Well, after i drew the char, i couldnt figure out a realistic position for the wing that would still show the WoW items. Basically, because of the angle, i just decided to forget about the whole wing thing, and just have fun drawing myself in armor.
After i drew my char, i decided to draw in the tombstone/grave type thing, and added the wand sticking out to signify magical stuff. Its perspective is not perfect, but its more symbolic than realistick.
I had a lot of fun coloring it. I experimented a bit more with coloring it, trying to get the shadows just right. However, i did mess up a little bit. Mainly the left leg, the armor should be more bright, but its alright.
The armor itself is inspired by my armor in Warhawk. Ive kinda fallen in love with that game. As well as bioshock, blue dragon, halo, and soon to get eternal sonata. All in all, im rather happy with the way the armor looks on me.
Now for the rant.
I cant stand WoW anymore. Now, i barely played the end game content, but i found that content to be the exact same, if not more boring than the mid lvl content.
In the end, all the game feels like is a grind so you can get better gear so you can play PvP at 70. But you know what, this game rather sucks at PvP. A game like this was never really designed for PvP. Its an RPG. The mechanics are basicaly the exact same as rolling dice.
But to clarify a bit more.
The community sucks. My work is slow, so in my free time, i liked to browse the forums. Well let me tell ya. The best way to describe the forums is that they are like a gigantic think tank with hundreds of people, the majority of which are immature, 12 year old, assholes.
But yah the forums dont make up the game. Well the game itself feels like its become dependant on PvP. Thus, all the game has turned into is a farm till 70, farm for decent gear, so you dont ultimately suck at PvP.
Which is all the more the issue. Now, due to the increase in PvP in WoW, you have to put up with tons of elitist basterds who wont hesitate in the slightest to tell you how much you suck, and that they are Skilled. How can you be skilled in a game that is based on chance. Even with a large chance to Crit, there is still the chance you want. If you go through the entire fight not critting, does that mean you suck? Seriously, do they go, "Fuck i suck" when there Mortal Strike doesnt crit? How are you supposed to have skill other than strategy of knowing what abilities to know at what time. Even then, you have a chance of those abilities not working.
Bah, in the end the game just feels like a big farm now. Your goal in the game is to farm to 70, and farm leet gear. Now i know the game is what you make of it, and the roleplay servers are a lot better for actuall roleplaying.... but when was the last time you were on a roleplay server that actually felt like a roleplay server.
In the end i dont know how to describe it. The game is an awesome game, and its a lot of fun to play.... but i just cant stand it anymore. Ive wasted so much time, and for what? To farm more gear so i can do more pvp?
Right now, there are just better games to play. Bioshock, BlueDragon, and Warhawk are all very awesome games. And Warhawk is one of my favorite multiplayer games.
And for community, im just gonna get back on my messengers ive been neglecting. Or perhaps finally getting on SecondLife.
End Rant.... I guess.
Not that much of a rant. Im not sure how to describe how fed up i am with WoW. I think the forums officially killed any interest i had in the game. I just find other games far more interesting right now.

I've never played WoW, or any kind of MMO's (which is strange, since I love RPG games), but I definately understand the immaturity of others when playing or chatting with others. I'd love to know what got that all started. It's one of the reasons I've left many chatrooms and message boards.
Makes me wonder what Spore is gonna be like, since you have the option to play against other players online...

I'm glad you got away from WoW. What a horrible game. I quit at level 43 because I was doing the same dumb thing thr whole way through.
Actually, the early game content had a few fun things. But it's all just so laaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.
There are monsters, kill them for me.
Get an item for me, you have to kill monsters for it
Get a different item, it's in a chest surrounded my monsters you have to kill.
blablabla, no interesting story or dynamics. I fought almost every battle the same way. It was fun at times, but after the 20s it just got lousy.

One ORPG I was addicted to for a while was Guild Wars, no PvP Focus on it, and it actually had a story that you go by ads you play o.o Plus, lovely featture as well, when you leave a town/city, the game automatically generates a copy of the world map JUST for you, so no people hogging all the spawn points :3
I myself have semi-stopped WoW...I got just over level 20, and REALLY can't even be bothered going further >.>;; I'm constantly making new characters to try classes I've repeatedly ditched, and the game has just become rather boring...I like to stick to SL, so much more to do on there once you get used to the system ^^;;

The game really isnt made for most people as most of the content begins only once your 70. Since the expansion theres been little to no updates for non 70s. As for the raid thing I can wholy agree. I main tank for my guild on veknalash and its become a second job almost. Spending 6 hours a night for 5 days a week working on hyjal/black temple progression. It really sucks some times :/
this'll happen in MMORPGs I believe, you'll have fun for quite a while til you decide to see what bugs you about it >w>
well, that's just what they're for really, just to have fun in your free time til you just get tired of it, you're motivated to progress in these games til it becomes less enjoyable >w>
I only get back into WoW sometimes when some other friends get introduced to it, especially when they migrate there from another MMORPG, it feels nice to help others try to enjoy the game when they want to ^w^

I play WoW and still love playing it. I've only played in the battlegrounds once and I didn't like it much - not because I was getting my arse kicked - everyone was getting their arse kicked, but that it was too random. It was more like death match than actually capture the flag.
The thing I like about RPGs is developing a character as they progress - getting new skills and spells, and finding out ways to kick arse with your character. In WoW the PvP is annoying, although it does keep you on your toes when in dangerous areas, but I play WoW for the friendship. Playing in groups is far better and safer than soloing. When you kick arse together, it really feels great.
I do wonder sometimes why I choose to play on a PvP realm, but I don't want to leave my guildies behind so I'm just got to stick with the PvP. Death isn't really such a big deal in the end.

Thats pretty much all I've ever heard about WoW from anyone (except this one guy I work with who seems to like it, but then he's like a 34-year old go nowhere who probably spent all his timefarming the l33t w4r3z for hiswhatever he is character.
I play Anarchy Online, which has PvP optional. I don't PvP. I dont need to be dragging around a 6 foot long ePeen when Im playing a game online. Granted, the grinding is boring, but there's just sooooo much else you can do in that game besides sit around and lvl lvl lvl.

Sounds like someone's had a bit to deal with for the past few weeks. I know how it feels, even though I've never played WoW.
Though, I do still play RuneScape. Big mistake. It has the same problems, complete with a broken economy, massive floods of Pures, and any time JaGex makes a change in the game, tens of thousands of players whine and complain.
I don't know how I even deal with it anymore, especially since I've been a Player Moderator for nearly a year. Guess some habits just can't e broken.
Shame on people who turn awesome games into piles of crap. Can't imagine an MMO that has a decent playerbase nowadays.

I tend to prefer single player games because the gameplay experience is polished to perfection (in theory) and can have a huge variety of content. Because the developers are worried about making a game that lasts for a couple days rather than a couple years, they don't have to keep repeating themselves.
When you do play things competitively, I tend to prefer games where your stats and gear are roughly the same as those of the people you fight. Smash Bros, Soul Calibur (or any fighter), Halo or Half Life or any FPS... you work on perfecting your skills as a player and strategist rather than seeing how obsessively you can play to get the best gear.
That having been said, I don't think there's /no/ place for a multiplayer competitive RPG. Say you have a system where you have say 60 "floating" experience points that are applied to the skills you have used the most often. Once all 60 are distributed, they start to filter away from skills you use the least, towards any new skills you're using. So you can still build your character in a way, choosing the allocations of skills, but you and anybody you're facing who has been playing for a week or so should have the same number of points learned, just distributed differently. Competitive but without a huge focus on grinding for months to get the best stuff, and it reflects the ability to branch out and move in new directions.

You could try EVE Online -- http://www.eve-online.com. I find it more satisfying than WOW.
I forget what the name of my last ship was.
Anyways, i gave up on that game some time ago. I didnt find the combat to be to exciting. although, at later lvls it was pretty awesome. However, i hated the sheer realism they had for PvP where you were screwed if you died. Which is becoming even more of a problem as they continue to push pvp more and more.

Heh. I play a shitload of Halo3 online, and you get the same 10-year-old, hip-gangsta wannabe faggots who like to run their mouths like they were 50 Cent or the Game, completely confident that they live 23094852 km away from you and you can't touch them.
Then you roll their asses in a match and they're all "WTF H4X. U can't be better than me..."
