They are SO OBNOXIOUS to find. Their Kenyan counterparts come in a rainbow of different morphs, are smaller, and much much cheaper. They look like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_t3XAgDA6A.....hsIMG_9481.jpg and are super cute!... but they're just not the same. If it's the derpy face you're after, then kenyans are a great alternative to indians. :) Depending on the color you want, you can get them for like $40 and under!
If you're like me though, and stubborn about the fatty indians, then you'll be ripping your hair out trying to find a breeder. I discovered them last month at a reptile expo, where a vendor kindly plopped one into my hands and told me they were the puppy dogs of snakes. I almost went home with one! Unfortunately, I didn't make the call soon enough, and I wasn't able to find that breeder online to save my life. In all my searching, I found a whole TWO people online selling this snake. One for more money than I'd like to mention, and the one I got these from. It's the demeanor that sold me on indians. They really are SO passive and relaxed.
I'M RAMBLING. Just expect to shell out $150+ for them, more if you want the ONE color variation they have (sunset).
It's worth mentioning that in 4-5 months I'll likely have a small batch of babies, and I don't have the desire nor patience to sell them for a fortune if I have a good sized clutch. They'll probably be going for cheap to people I know will take good care of them~

Unless you have some goofy state rules about them, no. :> They're not common within the hobby, but I think it's got a lot to do with kenyans getting all the attention because of their color and larger clutches. Don't quote me on these exact numbers, as I'm not an experienced breeder, but I think Kenyans have clutches in the 20s, and Indians only have like.. 5-6, haha. Obviously people look at the two and go WELL... THIS ONE'S PRETTIER -AND- HAS MORE BABIES.
So yeah. Just not a lot of people willing to shell out the extra money for a dull snake when they could get a "prettier" one for a fraction of the cost. What little business there is for them probably thrives exclusively on picky folks like me. XD Flashy scales aren't everything. ;)
And hey, however long it'll be, I'm not getting rid of these lovelies! If you're still interested in the far future, you can always track me down and ask when I'm next expecting! ^^
I just can't spread the love enough with these guys. Such incredible little wormies!
