The wreck of the KD Sri Inderapura(formerly known as the USS Spartanburg County) rests at the waters between the Pangkor island and the Lumut Navy base at Perak, Malaysia.

USS Spartanburg County is a United States Navy Newport class tank landing ship. She's laid down in Feb.7, 1970 at San Diego, CA by the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company and was launched on November 7, 1970 and finally commissioned on Sep.1, 1971. After serving 23 years in the USN, she was decommissioned and was bought by Malaysia at a cost of 48 million RM (about 14 million USD) and was put into service as KD Sri Inderapura on Dec.16, 1994. She caught fire for the first time 8 years after entering Malaysian service and was repaired and back into service. In 2009 she was again caught on fire and this time she was so badly damaged that the costs for repairing it is far more expensive than buy a new landing ship, so this ill-fated ship was officially decommissioned on Jan.21, 2010 and finally ending her 49 years of service in two different Naval Force.
