Here I was at work... just derpin.. wondering what to paint myself as today... when someone said " well make yourself your favourite animal! Naturally I painted myself up as a fox.. UNFORTUNATELY I was interrupted like... fifteen times so i didnt get to make it as awesome as I could have.. :( But i still had a lot of fun, and i think it held up pretty well for having worked for 7 hours in glasses :) ( which i took off for the picture)
sooooooo
i got ta thinkin.
I likea face paintin.
I could probably get myself a nice face painting set soon...( or possibly bum one off of work)
I was wondering...
at conventions... specifically in PA/NY area...does Everyone / nearly everyone wear fursuits? or would there possibly be any money to be made painting people's faces?
I've really never been to one so I wouldnt know.. which is why I'm asking you all :) Naturally being a stand, I'd have to put down a deposit for the space.. so I wanted to get some imput before I may (potentially) lost monies.
hulp?
yuss?

My favorite animal is a wolf. OH GODS!!! I am uninteresting and have been taught to like them and only them. I have no opinions on artwork and only fav wolf stuff because I'm sooooo mainstream.
*cough*
Anyways...honestly. I've not been to any cons yet though I would love too. For as many people that are ther ein suits there are many others (like myself) who cannot afford them or don't wear them every single day of the con. This much I can gather from pictures and journals and whatnot for people who go. Honestly...I think a facepainting station would go over really well! It's something that's not going to overheat you or limit your vision and not something you have to carry around or worry about sitting on but still pretty badass and very visible. I would totally do it. I love facepainting. Always have. I love the way it feels, lol. Back when i used to visit my grandparents every summer in CA, I always got my facepainted at the 4th of july carnival. it was awesome.

hahaha *cough cough* is right :)
hmmmm well part of the reason why I was asking is because I was unsure whether a Face painting station was already implemented in the whole con thing or not.... I also didn't know if 99.9% of the people would be in fursuits.. Truth be told I've never really been to a con, and a lot of the pics I've seen are mainly of people all in suits..so its good that I have that input that that's not the case!
The best part of my job is that I get to do that every day I'm in. :) What other job can you do that with? :) I also get all the free henna I could want, and my arm is currently all tatted up too XDXD
Oh and thanks for the feedback, and the info :)

I wanted to say that I think this is a fantastic idea, not sure how well it would go, but I know that for sure I would get it done! I want to say, give it a try! You are fantastic at it, and dont pay attention to the bumps in the road. I know you would be amazing, and I have faith in you. Surely a little stand for that wouldnt be expensive. I feel like many would want this specific thing done, and I am not familiar with many doing this! Do it, and also, I love the job you did on your face, I want it! :3
thanks honey. :) As I said I haven't really been to one before, so I have no idea what is and isn't already done. I'm surprised that this isn't a much more commonplace activity.. I would have thought that this would happen at nearly every con. :) Glad to find out that that isn't the case, and am excited at looking into it :) I do know that at art fairs and other places its normally a couple hundred to secure a spot... some are cheaper, some are more expensive. I would also have to buy my own painting set, which I would want to get the kind that we have at work, which is NOT cheap. ANYWHO, thanks for the feedback on the idea, and I'm glad you like it ^^
Soooo...I read the description but at 2am the comments were sortof a TL;DR for me. Disclaimer out of the way.
I actually did some face painting at the past AC (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8220421/) but hadn't taken any advertising stuff for it and some of the dealers den policies got in the way of making it really popular. We have almost an entire year before the next one to start a dialogue that at the very least may lead to an art jam on someones skin (has that been done before?).
Let me know if you're interested.
PS: Go Wolfe Brothers. http://www.wolfefx.com/ It's the best paint I've ever used and the guys that created the stuff are some of the coolest dudes in the haunted house industry.

haha I understand: commenting back at 3:30 am here. same.
I would be totally interested depending on where it is.. I'm in the PA/NY area. As I mentioned this is midway in the switch between wolfe brothers to Tagg, which is SHIT, and the two don't mix well, but the company's the one buying the paints, not me, so I have no say in the matter :/

Not a big fan of snazaroo, but as you said it gets the job done, especially when kids are involved.. especially kids who will smear, smudge and sweat all over their face paint haha.I actually dabbled in non-toxic russian watercolours first, and believe it or not, those were the best paints that I ever used.. they weren't meant for your face, but that didnt stop me from using them :)
The problem is that the name is actually in Russian. As in it has a whole bunch of characters that I have no idea how to put in to search them.. I still have the paints somewhere, and I use them for special occasions. I got them as a gift from a teacher of mine who actually lived in Russia for most of her life. They're fantastic though: there's got to be a way to replace them: each of the paints was individually wrapped in foil... but I need to find the brand to be able to do that! haha
