Jjajaja thanks!!!! But is easier than it looks, you just need to be confident and well, spend a lot of time with them, since they last a lot of time in getting to know you, and of course adapt to the fact they won´t hunt, that their food will be on your glove. Jaja if you study it for about... ehmm.. about 4 to 5 months you will get the grid of it!!! Ill be posting some more pics of my babies (hawks), so ill let you know!!!!! :D
Thanks!!!! Well it is really easy. I went three years ago to learn a little bit from birds, i made this request to the zoo and they said "sure, why not, only you will not get paid" So i entered and for five months i learned a lot, i used to go every afternoon, but now ive stopped going everyday, becouse of school, but i will be full time this summer!!!! Im part of the crew but i dont get paid, still i can go anywhere and im considered a worker. Just try to talk to the directive of your local zoo!!!! :D
Nop maybe it changes the casual name in different countries, here in Mexico is vulgarly called Caracara, but its a caracara plancus, of the family Falconidae, so for the visitors in the zoo to understand we just call the caracara hawks :D Thanks, i´ve been trying to keep him on a very good figure!!! :D Regardless other zoos that they just let them get fat :S :D
jajaj i know!!!! In the zoo at least you thank them to even call the eagles (they get closer), than others that hey just simply called chickens :S jajajaja but in Zacango we have many, becouse for some unknown reason the frugdeales tend to smugle them to mexico, then they get caught and they send them to us!!! Anyway i preffer it that way, they are better there than in the hands of drugdealers :S
urgh caracaras are NOT eagles, the best comparison would be like a falcon with long legs
Poor things, why would they use such pretty birds :< I think that they should never be taken from the wild, at least as fully grown adults like that bird is! It puts them under a lot of unnecessary stress.

yEap we think the same but since they are taken very young or even in eggs, well they never see their habbitat, and letting them go would be sentence them to death D:, still if they are taken adults, we only treat their injuries and then we do let them go (they are taken all the way to where they were taken) :D
And yeah, is really difficult to stay calm in a zoo when people call your birds "chickens" or "eagles", but well, at least they want to learn. Jajajaja is funny to correct someone who is giving a cathedra to his/her family about the animals we have, when they are calling them eagles and they invent a lot of things jajaj LOL :D
