Nekku's self-appointed mission in life, in the years after her escape from captivity in the war, has been to explore the depths of the island, looking for left-over human tech to help the mimiga rebuild and become strong again. She's just stumbled into a place known as the Egg Corridor, a huge ruined passageway that contains several of these giant eggs, as well as a ton of equipment for monitoring and researching them.
