I apologize to the photographer, but I've forgotten who took
this wonderful picture.
I do know it was taken at FurFright 2011 (I think) and that Sam's
knee is clearly visible.
Everyone seems to attend conventions for different reasons.
Some go for the panels, some go for the dances, and some go
just to be part of an extended family.
When I was new to con going, I tried to do everything. I suited all
the time and marked up my program with highlighters in an attempt
to squeeze every last moment in. It was rewarding, but exhausting!
Now that I'm a seasoned mutt, I devote my entire convention
to doing what I love to do best: having a cold beer, chatting
with my friends and being a lazy dog. And sitting in the jacuzzi...
My sole reason for attending these conventions is to see friends,
both old and new. I love the familiar faces and the joy of catching
up with someone's life. I also relish meeting new folks and seeing the
real life faces that were once just an on-line icon.
Thanks to all of you who have made my little furry vacations so much
fun. I look forward to seeing you all again at AC this year and beyond.
Fursuits may change. Venues may change. Beer may go flat.
Friendship is forever.

Ah your just like me, find a routine that works and stick with it, no stress and no problems. I have a routine for every occurence and dont like it when things change my routine. And yes friendships are forever but only true ones are. I havent been to a con yet and Im sure it will be a few years before I do but I look forward to meeting you so then I wont think of the icon every time I see "Dogbomb" somewhere. Hope you have a great time at AC as I will have a great time there in the future.
Getting in a tizzy about what to do at a convention is a good way to really ruin your con experience. I rarely if ever attend programming though I'm thankful for it because it gives other people a reason to get out of the bar and out from between me and my next...
Oh wait, I usually bring my own, don't I?
Well, either way, I'm thankful for Con Staff that's willing to turn a blind eye to the people in the corner drinking responsibly. And I'm glad to have friends to share beer with.
Especially the new Abita Strawberry Harvest summer seasonal that I just picked up. I'll think of you as I crack into the first one.

Very well said, Dog. One of the major joys of a con isn't just rushing on a tightly-scheduled event run, or depleting your card on random artistic memorabilia, but rather meeting up with longtime and newfound friends. Some actually have met before, some even for the first time. There's that charm and fun that only comes with friendship, and the gathering of such...
... granted, hanging out can be tedious if the con is rather large... as I've learned the hard way at this year's FC
