Lol. I married Derkethus as well. I don't know if it's just me, but he keeps running from my character's house back to the mining camp he originally lives in when he's not my current companion.

instead just tell him to live at his place, that way he can always be found there when not accompanying you ... since he cant die i gave him dragon armor, and enchanted everything with bow enchantments, he is the best archer ive seen.. sniped a bear before it got to me and i didnt even see it coming....STOCK HIM WITH ARROWS, the good ones...he earned my love... and so im good to him ^_^

Imho Derkeethus is the BEST Skyrim spouse/follower (And I found a -console- glitch to get him out of those "un-removable" mining clothes and in his loincloth just like all the other npcs hehehe XD)..
