The way I imagine this scene though is just the person talking about her you know and we pretty much pan over to seeing her just sitting there with this look on her face and the aura slowly and subtly begins to appear. Its not a matter of actually being there and telling her this its more so someone sort of speaking to and about her indirectly but it is not of her knowledge.

Ah yes, and she can just sorta..feel it, I take it. The aura looks pretty cool too; if you're not into anime you won't get this reference, but it looks a lot like Alucard's arms off of Hellsing when he goes all demonic.
