Ah, I see.:) You should know, however, that Porthos is the fat one in most works, by virtue of having great powers of eating in the three novels; truthfully, however, the one Dumas describes as "stout" is Aramis, rather than Athos. Porthos is spoken of as being very tall.

By the time of "Twenty Years After", of course, Porthos has grown fat on the wealth of his estates, inherited from his late wife.
