After NBC butchered the "Martian Chronicles", I sent Ray a fan letter expressing my outrage that the network did such a poor job filming his book. The only exception was the way how Richard Matheson handled the The Silent Towns/The Long Years chapters (instead of the original selfish overweight woman, he substituted her with a vain and incredibly beautiful woman [played by Bernadette Peters] and gave the hero Walter Gripp a much happier ending).
Ray, as you can see, was pleased.
