It was late that within the kingdom, and all had been going well. Royal business had been tended to, the loyal subjects all very much happy, and there was time for everyone to relax and have a nice time. However, the young Prince Rigel, recently crowned King, sat within his chambers with a look of sadness about him. Yes, he was with with his darker half, Quasar, and his beloved brother and lover, Banto. But something else tugged at the strings of his heart that filled him with woe.
His beloved knight Theodore was nowhere to be seen all day, and even now he was soon to have an audience with his subjects for some odd reason or another. He let out a sigh, before rising from his bed, making his way down to the throne room. He was just about to seat himself, looking out to the people, before the lights began to dim, and a familiar voice rang throughout the room.
"I'm so glad you could make it, my dear Prince.." the voice called, leaving the young Fennec rather confused as to what was going on. Before long, a single spotlight illuminated the space before him, and no other than the hybrid knight Theodore himself was before Rigel on one knee, a hand over his heart with a smile. The elder male lifted his head before rising, taking one small hand in his own, and kissing the top with a warm smile.
"I am sorry to surprise you like this, my Prince. But I simply had to do this. I've been gone much longer than I would have wanted to make sure that you and the kingdom are safe, that I've neglected to give you direct attention. So..." he continued, holding the same hand as he took a step down, the same smile still on his maw as he asked, "May I have this dance?"
The young fennec still in slight shock blushed lightly, nodding quietly before following his knight down the steps to the center of the room. The subjects were all smiling softly, clearing the path and space just for them so the two could have their dance together. Once they were the center of attention, the hybrid would gently pull Rigel into a familiar position: the start of a waltz, before he snapped a finger, gentle music filling the air while the two slowly danced together.

"You are a natural at the waltz, my Prince. Had I known, I would have rushed even harder to dance with you.", he said as he gently twirled the fennec outward, then back in toward him, one hand held in his own, the other gently about the younger male's waist, soon caressing Rigel's cheek with his usual tenderness. "I'm sorry I missed your coronation. If I could, I would have dropped everything to--"
Theodore was soon cut off by a full-on kiss, the hybrid going wide-eyed but only a moment before returning it, churring lightly as he felt two hands upon his face, and soft sniffles shortly after. The fox-bun would have parted to question, but when he did, the younger fennec insisted upon keeping him there just a bit longer. So naturally, they would stand there kissing for about a minute or so, before the hybrid took Rigel back into their slow dancing.
At this point, there was no need for apologies, or "I love yous" right now. It was already very well known how strongly they felt for one another. And at the moment, no one would complain, or have it any other way. This was dance that was long overdue. And now it was time for it to be enjoyed. This was a time of peace. A time of love. A time of dreaming...
