Well, now that the Califur upload spree is out of the way, it's time to show something I did after it...just a night or two ago as of this posting, actually. On that night I was looking into doing some art while I had some episodes of Mythbusters or something running, and so I began to sketch...and sketch...and sketch...a few hours later, I was staring at this rather detailed thing in front of me. Oh dear.
As I've said before, I've always been fond of drawing machines and landscapes...it's been a while since I've tried to be this detailed with a machine, let alone a moving one like a mech. I probably could have stood to sketch out the basic mech form out on another paper before diving into the actual design, but all in all, this turned out alright. I'm sure you trained artists among my viewers will be able to see god-knows how many perspective mistakes and errors, but for the time being, I'm quite happy with how it's looking.
Incidentally, I've not inked this yet for a few reasons - first, I might want to add yet MORE details, like battle damage, wear and tear, stuff like that. Also, I'm worried like hell that if I ink it I'll wind up ruining it somehow. And, of course, if there ARE any major mistakes in this, well, it'd be good to catch them before it was all inked up, eh? I may just ink this digitally tho, just so I can have the extra control...hmmm.
