Marvelous meaty balls delicately displayed from the kitchens of
stripekazama
It was Sweden's National Holiday the other day so of course I had to make Swedish meatballs. And so can you now too!
Ingredients:
500 gram minced meat
1.5 deciliter milk
1 deciliter breadcrumbs
1 onion
1 deciliter finely chopped parsley (optional)
1 deciliter finely chopped chives (optional)
Salt and Pepper
How to:
1. Get the breadcrumbs to soak in milk for about 10 minutes.
2. Once 10 minutes have passed, add about a and a half teaspoon of salt and then add the minced meat to it.
3. Use the fine end of a grater and grate the onion into the meat, add a teaspoon and a half of pepper. And if using chives and parsley, add those too.
4. Knead the meat nicely with your hands until it's a nice 'dough'. Once done, take a pinch of the meat and form into balls.
5. Fry the balls in butter (Gives them better flavour.) They're done once fried.
6. To serve it the Swedish way, serve it with mashed potatoes (or boiled potatoes), lingonberry jam and gravy or creamsauce
