Done for mlp-atg-alumni week 50 theme 'A Pony Underground.'
I pretty much did this in two days. Was doodling while watching youtube with my BF late at night like I have been these past weeks, and I came up with Pinkie about to rush off some generic ledge. Then I got it into my mind to try and complete it in time for the ATG, and two days of coloring later I am DONE. I had no idea how I was going to make it work but I managed to piece it together just in time.
The background was just me trying to apply some sort of Equestrian-ruins type feel to it, it wasn't in the original sketch at all and I came up with it on the fly. I dont like the wood platform still, because I have no idea how to shade wood to make it look right. I tried a grain type shading but it looked awful. I'll have to look at wooden structures some time to see how they work in light. Pinkie is mostly okay, but the shading on the main body gave me so much of a hassle and I still don't think it looks right.
I used Color Scheme Designer ( [link] ) to help pick a color palette and google gave me blackgryph0n's vector for Celestia's cutie mark, which made it easier to shape it at angle on the wall when I had a mask to follow.
Anyway, this was a lot of fun even with the pressure, and I feel like I'm getting better. Thanks for taking a moment to peek at it.
