When inspirations and dreams come true.
It fills me with happiness and joy to have captured a moment of a dream that became reality. :)
There is an inspiring music piece to this dreamy photo also! --> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8168378/
For
foxamoore who was able to hold Roxy, the red fox, at Confuzzled 2012. She was all fluffy, curious and especially loved noses.
Thanks to the Nuneaton and Warwickashire Wildlife Sanctuary who gave us two a change to remotely have this small photoshoot and an amazing time with Roxy. :)
A small con report is also coming soon.
Thanks a lot for looking <3

Well, they're wild animals and not really adjusted for captivity, even if bread in human society. As a result owners of wildlife like foxes or wolves end up getting in over their heads when the animal gets older and tragically have to give up the animal to a rescue organization. There is, however, a program in Siberia where people have bred foxes for behavior and in only about 8 generations, they have shown dog-like physical traits and seem to be a lot more sociable toward humans.
yeah i meant the foxes that are actually fitting to haev as pets, i wouldn't ask for a wild fox/wolf xD
and i was more interested in their character, like if they would be more like cat or dog-like or crossover maybe idk
and i wouldn't want to have wildlife animals as pets, if they did grow up in nature freely^^
actually, no breeds either, since it only reminds me what crap is done to some dog-breeds -.-

Even if a fox or wolf is born into captivity, it's instincts aren't to live with humans. It takes special enclosures, training on the human's part and a lot of time spent taking care of the animal. Dogs coexist with humans so well because we have lived with them for some 10,000 years. Even though their common ancestors were wolves, the wild behaviors have mostly been bred out of them. The Siberian fox situation is case where these foxes have been bred for generations as an attempt to make them more domestic upon birth and that has taken quite a while. As far as I know it is the only program of its kind and I don't think they sell the pups. Even if they do, you would need special licenses just to import the animal as well as an area for the fox to live in that is kept to certain standards. From what I hear, they have the independence of cats with the friendliness of dogs, so they do sound like they would make nice pets if one was willing to go through all the paperwork.
OMG, I'm so jealous D: She has the most gorgeous eyes ;u;
There was a fox in the neighborhood I grew up in who used to curl up on my stepfather's old truck and wait for him to get home from the meat market, cuz he'd feed him extra meat we didn't need ^^; I was never allowed to get too close to the fox though, cuz like it or not, he was wild :c I'd still call him a childhood friend though :3 I loved seeing him in our yard, and I never felt threatened because he never got in our trash, and our cats always made it home safe whenever they went out.

When I see things like this it always makes me smile. I wish others that hate these wonderful creatures or see them as nothing more than something to be made into a coat; would just spend a moment with a fox. And see for them selves that these animals are not out to cause someone trouble, they are just trying to feed their family. And to the ones whom buy hides for nothing more than selfish glamour! See how they are cruly raised, trapped, often tortured and then killed! See and understand that they are intelligent living beings just as our selves. That deserve a chance to live unharmed as much as we do!
I'm lucky that I've had these chances and only wish everyone else could do the same.
